The problem

Small interior design studios in Metro Manila get most clients through Instagram and referrals. Instagram shows single photos, not the story of a project, and inquiries arrive as “hm po?” messages with no budget or timeline. A studio like this needs a site that tells each project as a story and asks the right questions before the first call.

This is a concept project: the studio, its team and its projects are fictional. It exists to show interior designers what their own site could be.

What I did

Projects as stories

Each project page pairs a short brief with a spec panel (size, timeline, materials), a plan next to the finished room, and a gallery with captions. The studio shows how a room came together, not just a photo of it.

An inquiry form that screens itself

The form asks for property type, city, size, budget band and target move-in date, so the studio knows what it is dealing with before the first call. It does not ask for a full address or accept file uploads.

Fast on mobile data

Photography fills the page, so images are the main cost. They are resized at build, served in modern formats and lazy-loaded below the first screen. Fonts are self-hosted and kept to two families.

Built with

  • AstroStatic pages and no server to maintain; image-heavy galleries get responsive AVIF and WebP at build time.
  • TypeScriptTyped content for projects, so every project page has the same fields.
  • Self-hosted fontsBesley and Schibsted Grotesk served from the same origin, with no call to Google.

Results

  • Performance: not measured yet.
  • Accessibility: not measured yet.
  • Best Practices: not measured yet.
  • SEO: not measured yet.
  • Page weight: not measured yet.
  • LCP: not measured yet.

Scores appear here only once they are measured, dated and linked to a report.

Concept projects show technical results only, because there are no real customers to measure.

Screens

  • The Projects index on a phone, with filter tabs and the first project card and its material strip.

If this were a real engagement

  • For a real studio: connect the inquiry form to its CRM or inbox.
  • For a real studio: add a journal series for local search, such as condo turnover checklists.
  • For a real studio: replace the illustrative photos with its own project photography.
